COMMISSIONED FROM A SINGLE DRAWING

Bespoke Manufacturing

From your drawing to the installed floor, one accountable partner. We manufacture hand-knotted rugs and carpets to OEM and private-label specification, for buyers who require a production partner their clients will never need to know about.

Design to installation

Six stages. One standard.

01

Design & CAD

The commission begins with your brief, space drawings, colour references and technical requirements. Our studio translates these into a full rug design, complete with CAD layout and hand-dyed colour poms for site-light approval before any sampling cost is committed.

02

Sampling

A hand-woven strike-off, a scaled physical sample in the exact fibre, density and palette of the signed-off specification, is produced and couriered for approval. Production does not start until the strike-off is signed. It is the binding reference for every decision that follows.

03

Dyeing

Yarn is dyed in-house against the approved pom. We document dye lot references and retain batch notes in permanent archive so repeat orders match the original to within one Pantone step.

04

Hand-knotting on the loom

Artisans work to a signed talim notation, the traditional loom-language that encodes every knot position. Supervisors audit knot density, colour fidelity and dimensional accuracy at regular intervals throughout production, not at completion.

05

Washing & Finishing

Off the loom, every piece is washed to relax the pile and deepen colour, then sheared and edge-finished to the approved profile. Handle, lustre and dimension are checked against the strike-off at this stage.

06

Inspection & Install

A full quality audit, surface pile, colour, dimension and finish measured against the strike-off, is completed and documented before packing. Export documentation, freight and customs are managed end-to-end. Installation support is available on request.

Materials

Select your fibre.

Every specification begins with the pile material. Each fibre dictates how the surface captures light, how the pile behaves underfoot and how the piece ages. We advise at brief stage.

Mohair Wool

Mohair Wool

Shorn from the Angora goat, mohair is the most lustrous of all the wool fibres, its long, smooth staple reflects light with a clarity that no other animal fibre can match. Blended into a hand-knotted pile, it creates surfaces that shift from near-matte to brilliant under raking light, with exceptional resistance to felting and pilling across decades of use.

Bespoke manufacturing questions

Can you make a rug to my own design and exact size?

Yes. Custom design and custom dimensions are the core of what we do. Send a drawing, artwork or reference and a size, and we translate it to the loom, including bespoke shapes and very large formats.

Do you offer OEM and private-label rug manufacturing?

Yes. We manufacture under OEM and private-label arrangements for brands, retailers and designers, handling design, sampling, weaving and finishing as one accountable partner.

What is the minimum order for a custom rug?

There is no fixed minimum. We take on single bespoke pieces as well as full collections and contract volumes. Requirements are confirmed per project with our team.

Which materials and techniques can I choose from?

Wool, silk, bamboo silk, cotton and natural-fibre blends, in hand-knotted, hand-tufted, hand-woven and handloom construction. We will recommend the best combination for your design, budget and end use.
