The House of Raheem & Son
For four generations we have woven for the world, one loom in 1927, thousands of artisans today, and a single, unmoved standard: every knot tied by hand.
A large-scale handmade rug manufacturer and exporter, built for bulk, wholesale and contract volumes. Our weaver network spans the Bhadohi to Mirzapur carpet belt, enabling rapid sampling, reliable production lead times, and OEM, private label and white label at scale.

The Knots of Time
From a single loom in undivided India to bespoke commissions across the world, the story of a family that never stopped weaving.
Legacy, since 1927
Raheem & Son (RASHMO) was established in Bhadohi as one of the earliest Indian-owned carpet export houses. In an era when the trade was dominated by colonial firms, it stood apart as a homegrown enterprise, laying the groundwork for a generational legacy of craft.
Marking Indian soil with excellence
The business expanded across continents, rising among Bhadohi's leading exporters. Despite British dominance of the industry, the family-owned company quietly marked Indian soil with excellence and carried Indian artistry to the world.
New ways of weaving
Tufted weaving was introduced to the Indian industry through our American friend Nath K. Milgrim, who brought the first tufting gun. That same year, flat-weaving techniques were adopted, widening creative possibilities at the loom.
The craft
Four ways to make a rug by hand.
Made with conscience
Three ways every rug gives back.

Artisan livelihoods
Every rug is tied by hand. Each commission sustains a weaver's craft and the generational knowledge of Bhadohi.

Natural materials
Hand-spun wool and small-batch natural dyes, madder, indigo, walnut, gentler on the hand and on the earth.

Community & welfare
A child-labour-free pledge and the CLEWS schools, a measure of every rug returns to the families who make it.

For architects, designers & hospitality

Bespoke large-format rugs engineered from a single drawing, woven, finished and installed for the world's most demanding hospitality, workplace and residential trade projects.

Questions
What buyers and designers ask us
What types of handmade rugs does Raheem & Son make?
We make hand-knotted, hand-woven (flatweave), hand-tufted and handloom rugs in wool, silk, cotton and natural-fibre blends. Every rug is made by hand in Bhadohi, India, and can be produced in standard or fully bespoke sizes.
Does Raheem & Son sell rugs online or to the trade?
Raheem & Son is an export-driven house. We do not sell single rugs through an online checkout. Instead we work with interior designers, architects, importers, retailers and private clients on enquiry, sampling and bespoke commissions. Approved trade partners also get access to our gated trade catalogue.
Where are Raheem & Son rugs made?
Our looms are in Bhadohi, in the Mirzapur and Bhadohi carpet belt of Uttar Pradesh, India, where the family has woven rugs since 1927. We export finished rugs to clients and projects around the world.
Can I order a custom or bespoke rug in a specific size, colour or design?
Yes. Bespoke work is central to what we do. We can match a design, colourway and dimensions to a brief, including very large and irregular shapes for contract projects. Speak to our team to start a commission.
How do I request samples or a quotation?
Contact our team with your project, sizes and quantities and we will arrange samples and pricing. There is no fixed minimum order; requirements are confirmed per project.
