Rug manufacturing questions, answered.
Minimums, sampling, lead times, custom sizes, private label and export. Each answer links to the page with the full detail.
Ordering and minimums
What is the minimum order quantity?
There is no fixed minimum. Volumes run from a single bespoke piece to full container loads and ongoing production programmes. What applies to your project depends on product type, construction, material and level of customisation, and we confirm it when you send your brief.
What information do I need to start an enquiry?
As much or as little as you have. A rough description of what you need, the quantities and your target market is enough to start. Designs, CAD files, colour references and physical samples can all be shared during the enquiry stage.
Sampling
How long does sampling take?
Sampling and strike-off typically take 25 to 35 days from an approved design and specification. The exact time depends on the construction, the number of colours and current studio capacity.
Can a rug be sampled in my own colours?
Yes. Send a Pantone reference, a physical swatch or a photograph and we will dye to match.
Production and lead times
What is the production lead time?
Bulk production lead times start from 60 days and depend on order size, construction complexity and current production load. Lead times are confirmed at the time of order.
Do you manufacture on your own looms?
Raheem & Son works across 1,400+ looms in the Bhadohi to Mirzapur carpet belt and has run continuously since 1927. Where a buyer also wants sourcing across other units, the buying-agency service through RS Contract states in writing which pieces are made on our own looms.
Custom sizes and private label
Can you make a rug to my own design and exact size?
Yes. Send a drawing, artwork or reference and a size, and we translate it to the loom, including bespoke shapes and very large formats.
Do you offer private label and white label supply?
Yes. Private label orders can include your label, hangtag, packaging insert or brand mark, and white label means the rug ships under your brand with no Raheem & Son identification. A labelled sample is provided for approval before the full production run.
Export and shipping
Which Incoterms are available?
All major Incoterms 2020 terms, including EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, CIP, DAP and DDP, arranged as per buyer requirement. The term is agreed when the purchase order is confirmed.
Which ports do you ship from?
Nhava Sheva (JNPT) in Mumbai is recommended for the USA and Western Europe, Mundra for the Middle East and Gulf, and Kolkata Sea Port via the Varanasi Multi-Modal Terminal for Australia and Southeast Asia. Delhi Air Cargo is used for air shipments.
What export documents do you provide?
Commercial invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin and phytosanitary documentation where required by the destination market. Further compliance paperwork is prepared based on your market and buyer requirements.
Standards and certification
What certifications does Raheem & Son hold?
Raheem & Son is a CEPC-registered export house, and CEPC registration is the only credential it currently holds. It was awarded the Four-Star Category Certificate in 2009 by the Directorate of Industries, Government of Uttar Pradesh (a historic award that lapsed in 2011). No in-date third-party product certificate is held as a standing document. Other certifications and audits can be arranged or supported for qualifying orders, and we confirm what is achievable for your order and market.
