How to Order
From enquiry to worldwide delivery.
A clear six-step process for placing a bulk handmade rug order with Raheem and Son. Sampling, production, quality control and container shipping, all coordinated from one point of contact.

The order process
Six steps, beginning to end.
Every order follows the same structure. No step is skipped. Each stage is confirmed with you before the next begins.
Enquiry
Share your brief: designs, constructions, materials, sizes and estimated quantities. You can send drawings, CAD files, colour references, physical samples or a product specification. The more detail you provide at this stage, the faster we can give you an accurate response.
We respond within two business days to acknowledge your enquiry and confirm whether we can fulfil your requirements.

Sampling and strike-off
We produce a sample or strike-off to your approved design and specification. Sampling typically takes 25 to 35 days depending on construction complexity, the number of colours and current studio capacity.
Samples are reviewed together before any production commitment is made. Revisions can be addressed at this stage.

Confirm and purchase order
Once the sample is approved, you issue a purchase order confirming the product specification, quantities, sizes, packing requirements and preferred Incoterm. Production does not begin until the PO is received and confirmed on our side.
All production parameters, including packing spec, labelling, documentation and quality requirements, are locked in at this stage.

Production
Bulk production begins across our 1,400+ loom network in the Bhadohi to Mirzapur carpet belt. Lead times for bulk orders start from 60 days and vary depending on order size, construction and current production load.
We provide production status updates on request throughout this phase.

Quality control and finishing
Each piece is inspected at multiple stages: in-process at the loom, post-wash and at final finishing. Dimension, colour, pile height and surface quality are all verified against the approved sample before packing.
Order-specific quality requirements confirmed during the PO stage are applied throughout. Pieces that do not meet specification are corrected or replaced before dispatch.

Packing and container shipping
Rugs are rolled, poly-wrapped and palletised to the confirmed packing specification. Full export documentation is prepared, including commercial invoice, packing list, Certificate of Origin and phytosanitary paperwork where required.
Shipments are dispatched via the port and under the Incoterm agreed at the time of order. We serve more than 130 countries worldwide.

Process, sampling and lead times
What information do I need to start an enquiry?
As much or as little as you have. A rough description of what you need, the quantities and your target market is enough to start a conversation. Designs, CAD files, colour references and physical samples can all be shared during the enquiry stage. We will guide you through what else is needed.
How long does sampling take?
Sampling and strike-off typically take 25 to 35 days. The exact time depends on the construction, the number of colours and current studio capacity. We confirm the sampling lead time at the start of the process.
What is the minimum order quantity?
We do not publish a fixed minimum order quantity because it varies by product type, construction, material and level of customisation. Contact us with your requirements and we will confirm what applies to your project.
What is the production lead time?
Bulk production lead times start from 60 days and depend on order size, construction complexity and current production load. Lead times are confirmed at the time of order.
Which Incoterms are available for shipping?
We work to all major Incoterms 2020, including EXW, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, CIP, DAP and DDP, arranged as per your requirement. The applicable term is agreed at the time the purchase order is confirmed.
Can I visit the factory or attend a production inspection?
Yes. Factory visits and production inspections can be arranged at agreed stages during the production cycle. Contact us to discuss timing and access.
