Frequently asked
Is everything at RS Living made to order?
Yes. Nothing at RS Living is held in stock. Every rug is made after you order it, in the size and colourway you choose, from nine standard sizes or a custom size priced to your dimensions. The same is true of our cushion covers, poufs, baskets, wall hangings and furniture.
How long will my order take?
Made to order. Estimated production time: hand-knotted about 90 days, Oushak and handloom about 60 days, hand-tufted about 50 days, poufs about 45 days; other pieces usually a few weeks. For international orders, timelines are subject to change; we will email the confirmed delivery time and tracking details.
Do you ship to my country? How much is shipping?
Shipping is free wherever we deliver, with India as our home market. Rugs ship free to every country, and rugs for the UK and EU are made to your exact size. Furniture is not available for delivery to the UK or EU. Cushion covers, poufs, baskets and wall hangings can be delivered there and may be cancelled within 14 days of receiving them. Choose your delivery country in the store to see what can reach you.
Do you deliver across India?
Yes. India is our priority market and shipping is free to Indian addresses. Prices are in Indian rupees, and orders delivered within India involve no import duty.
Will I pay import duty?
If your order is delivered outside India, import duties and taxes, if any, are paid by you to the carrier on delivery; we do not collect them. Shipping itself stays free. Orders delivered within India have no import duty. See our shipping and duty page.
What currency are prices in?
Indian rupees (INR). The price shown for a size or a piece is the price of that piece, and shipping is free. If you view prices in another currency they are approximate, you are always charged in INR, and your bank may apply its own rate.
Can I see a sample before I order?
Yes, and we recommend it whenever colour matters. Screens are unreliable for colour, so a sample lets you judge colour and texture in your own room and light. Request one through the samples page.
What if my rug arrives with a fault?
Tell us within 3 days of delivery, with your order number and daylight photographs of the whole rug and the fault, at living@raheemandson.com. We arrange for the rug to come back to us, repair it and send it back to you. This service applies to rugs and does not affect your statutory rights.
Will my rug look exactly like the picture?
Close, but not identical. Some of our images are digitally rendered, yarn is dyed in batches so colour shifts slightly between orders, and a finished rug lands within about 1 to 2 per cent of its size. If colour matters, order a sample first.
Who designs RS Living rugs?
The designs are our own. Our high-end rugs are made in collaboration with high-end designers, whose names we do not disclose.
Is RS Living part of Raheem & Son?
Yes. RS Living is the retail store of Raheem & Son, the handmade rug house founded in 1927 in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh. Raheem & Son sells to export and wholesale buyers, RS Contract handles hotel and architecture projects, and RS Living sells single pieces to homes.
Are your rugs certified?
Raheem & Son is registered with the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), the only body we are registered with. Other certifications and third-party audits can be arranged on request for orders that need them, which is usually relevant to trade buyers rather than homes.
Do you have reviews?
Not yet on this store, which is new. We will not show ratings or reviews until they come from real buyers through a verified review method. In the meantime, ask us anything before you order, or order a sample to judge the piece yourself.
Do you offer trade or bulk prices?
Yes, through the trade side of the house. RS Living sells single pieces at its listed prices. Interior designers, architects and businesses buying in volume should use the Raheem & Son trade programme or request a bulk quote.
Do I need a rug pad?
On a hard floor, usually yes. A pad stops a rug slipping, which matters most for thin flatweaves, and cushions it so grit is not ground into it. Choose one a few centimetres smaller than the rug on every side.
