About flatweave rugs

A flatweave is woven flat on the loom without a pile, so it is thin, light and easy to move, and it sits under doors where a thicker rug would catch. In India a flatweave is often called a dhurrie (dari). Our 15 flatweave designs are made in 100% wool, in geometric and floral patterns. Each comes in nine standard sizes from 2 x 3 ft to 12 x 15 ft, or a custom size priced to your dimensions, from ₹2,341 for 2 x 3 ft. Every rug is made to order, with free shipping across India and worldwide. Use a thin rug pad on hard floors.

Questions

What are your flatweave rugs made of?

Our flatweave rugs are made in 100% wool.

What is a dhurrie?

A dhurrie, or dari, is a flat, pileless rug traditionally woven in India. It is light and easy to move. In shop terms a dhurrie is a kind of flatweave.

Does a flatweave rug need a rug pad?

Yes, on a hard floor. A flatweave is thin and light, so a pad stops it sliding and adds a little cushioning. Choose a thin pad a few centimetres smaller than the rug on every side.

Why does the price of a custom size floral flatweave not rise in a straight line?

The price of a custom size floral flatweave depends on the size you enter, and smaller rugs cost proportionally more than large ones. The nine standard sizes each have a fixed price, shown on the product page.

How do I clean a wool flatweave?

Vacuum it regularly without the beater bar, blot spills at once and clean it cool and damp. Never steam clean wool.
