What CEPC is
The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) was formed in 1982 to promote and structure the Indian handmade carpet trade. Raheem and Son's founders were among the founding members of the All India Carpet Trade Fair Committee in Varanasi, whose efforts led to its formation, as told on the house history.
What registration shows, and what it does not
Registration identifies a company as a registered carpet exporter. It is useful as a first filter. It is not a test of the product, a factory audit or a labour certification, so it should sit alongside a sample inspection and any further documents your market requires.
Raheem and Son is a CEPC-registered export house, and CEPC registration is the only credential it currently holds. A Four-Star Category Certificate was awarded in 2009 by the Directorate of Industries, Government of Uttar Pradesh; it is a historic award that lapsed in 2011, not a current certificate. No in-date third-party product certificate is held as a standing document. Other certifications and audits are arranged on request for qualifying programmes, and we say so in writing before an order, not after.
Frequently asked
Is CEPC registration a product certification?
No. It registers an exporter with the council. Product testing and audits are separate and can be arranged for qualifying orders.
