What this series is, and how to read it

Published by Raheem & Son, which is included. We say so up front because it matters: you should weigh what follows knowing the author is one of the companies named.

Buyers search by product, not by company: they want a pouf supplier, or a flatweave supplier, or a hand-knotted one. This series follows that. Each guide covers one category and lists the Indian companies whose own websites show it, with the page we relied on for each company.

Every list uses one stated ordering criterion. For the six category guides it is the year each company states it was established, oldest first. For the countries guide it is the number of countries each company states it serves. These are orderings, not rankings, and not endorsements. We do not use scores, stars, "best" or "top". Raheem & Son appears in every list, in whatever position the criterion gives us. Last verified: 18 October 2026.

Which companies appear, and why some do not

Seven companies appear across the series: Obeetee, Raheem & Son, Qaaleen, Jaipur Rugs, Sharda Exports, Saraswati Global and PiHue Creations. A company appears in a category only when its own site shows that category. That is why Obeetee is absent from the pouf guide and Sharda is absent from the handloom guide: not because they are weaker, but because the page we checked does not use the term.

Some well-known companies are missing altogether because we could not verify a founding year or a category from their own pages, and we prefer a shorter list to a padded one. If you represent a company that belongs in a guide, send us the page and we will add it.

How to use the series with Raheem & Son's own pages

If you are comparing suppliers, start with the category you buy and read the entries side by side. Then use our comparison of Indian rug manufacturers, our guide to comparing rug exporters and the checklist in how to verify a rug supplier's certificates. Our own capability pages are poufs, pillows, weaving techniques and manufacturing, and ordering terms are on how to order. You can request physical samples through the sample programme, or apply for the trade programme.

Frequently asked

Is this a ranking of Indian rug exporters?

No. Each guide is ordered by one stated criterion, year established or number of countries stated, and none is a ranking or endorsement. Raheem & Son published the series and is included in every list.

How are companies chosen for each guide?

A company is included in a category only if its own public website shows it makes or sells that product. Each entry cites the page relied on, and unverifiable facts are marked not publicly stated.

When were these guides last checked?

They were last verified on 18 October 2026. Company pages change, so check the cited page for anything you intend to rely on.
