Hand-knotted rugs are the pinnacle of the Bhadohi weaving tradition. Each rug is woven knot by knot on a vertical loom, in wool, mulberry silk or a blend of both, by craftspeople whose families have practised the technique for generations. Raheem and Son is a CEPC-registered hand-knotted rug manufacturer and exporter in India, supplying wholesale buyers, interior designers and retail brands worldwide.

Common questions
What makes a hand-knotted rug different from other types?
A hand-knotted rug is made by tying individual knots around warp threads on a loom. This makes each rug structurally reversible and exceptionally durable. A dense knotted pile can last 50 to 100 years with normal care, which is why hand-knotted rugs are prized by collectors and interior designers.
What materials does Raheem and Son use in hand-knotted rugs?
We use New Zealand wool, Himalayan wool, mulberry silk and bamboo silk, often in combination. Wool provides resilience and natural lustre; silk adds sheen and allows finer detail in the design. All fibres are sourced and quality-checked before weaving begins.
Can you manufacture hand-knotted rugs to a custom size or design?
Yes. Every design in our hand-knotted range is woven to order and can be made to any dimension or colourway. We also produce fully bespoke pieces from a customer's own drawing, mood board or CAD file. Enquire with your size, design reference and timeline.
