Jute & Natural Fibre

Common questions

What fibres are used in natural-fibre rugs?

Our natural-fibre range includes jute, cotton and blended combinations. Jute is the most widely used; it is fast-growing, biodegradable and produces a warm, honey-toned surface. Cotton blends add softness underfoot. We can advise on the best fibre combination for your climate and intended use.

Are jute rugs suitable for all rooms?

Jute rugs work best in low-moisture, low-traffic rooms such as living rooms, bedrooms and studies. They are not recommended for bathrooms or outdoor areas because jute fibres can absorb moisture and soften over time. For high-humidity or outdoor settings, a synthetic or cotton-blend alternative is more suitable.

Can Raheem and Son produce custom natural-fibre rugs?

Yes. We can weave jute and natural-fibre rugs to any size, in custom weave structures and colour combinations. Supply a brief or design reference and we will advise on what is achievable with the available fibres and production methods.
